Donation Opportunity
 
Since the introduction of corporate campus, almost 50% of our funding is spent to transport Lawrence students to our partner companies once a week, where the one-to-one mentoring takes place. This transportation is the key to making the program work. We can fund transportation for a Corporate Campus program for an entire academic year for between $4,000 - $6,000, depending upon the number of students in the program and the distance of the company from Lawrence.
This comprises the lion’s share of the cost of supporting 15-30 mentor student matches for nine months.
At $450 a match this is a fraction of the cost of maintaining a match in most other mentoring programs. The average cost of maintaining a match across mentoring programs in Massachusetts is around $1,400 per match. Supporting a Stand and Deliver Corporate Campus program can provide a great return on investment – more bang for your buck.
We are always expanding our Lawrence High School program and employ a Program Coordinator to support this expansion and manage our High School office and computer systems available to Stand and Deliver students for academic and college research.
We have 115 active Stand and Deliver students at the high school. Our objective for the 2009-10 school year is to retain these students and add another 50 - 100 to both existing and new programs, expanding support for College Board Advanced Placement courses.
In the 2008-09 year we had 210 students in the program. If we are successful in the expansion effort, Stand and Deliver will have a major and very positive impact on the pass-rate in Lawrence in the 10th grade MCAS. Stand and Deliver students pass at a 25-30% higher rate than the general student population and 150+ students will cover 20+% of the 2008-09 10th grade class.
